Are you interested in railway drainage and the positive impact it can have on the overall safety and performance of the railway system. If so, there is an exciting opportunity to join us in a role that is vital in supporting improvements in drainage asset management on Western Route. We are looking for an Asset Engineer to join our Drainage Engineering and Asset Management team. The team are responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of a varied asset portfolio across the length and breadth of the Western Route. The successful individual will be expected to work in a collaborative manner with both internal and external stakeholders whilst promoting the importance of systems thinking. The role will include using GiS data, embracing technology and working with datasets to ensure accurate and reliable data is available, to drive optimal decisions within asset management. You will support drainage asset management processes including inspection, maintenance and renewals in accordance with functional policy and standards to deliver a safe and reliable railway for our customers. Continuous professional development is a constant focus in the team and membership of a relevant professional relevant engineering institution is essential. We are looking for proactive, ambitious individual with a desire to develop themselves and help in delivering a safe and efficient railway. Civil engineering experience is essential, including drainage which would be advantageous, as would strong communication and numerical skills alongside a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a busy team. Personal Track Safety (AC) will be a requirement for the role but not essential at the application stage. Further track safety competencies including COSS and Site Warden would be encouraged for the successful applicant. Full UK driving licence is essential. HNC or HND in a relevant engineering discipline is essential or a commitment to work towards such qualifications.
